ELA B30 is an issue-oriented course that is organized around human concerns in a global society by using world literature in a comparative manner.  Issue-based units in this curriculum are:

The Human Condition

Related issues:  Identity and The Sense of Self; Human Relationships

The Social Experience

Related issues:  Truth and Justice; Ambition, Power and the Common Good; Conformity and Non-conformity or Resistance.

This course is  delivered through the use of lesson and assignment booklets, and a final exam at the end of the course.  Teachers are available throughout the day to assist students via person to person, telephone or e-mail.

Topics include probability, data analysis, matrices, complex numbers, quadratic equations, polynomial functions, exponential and logarithmic functions.  A scientific calculator is required.

Course Description:

Math A30 is intended as a university entrance course for most colleges.  Topics in Math A30 are permutations and combinations, data analysis, polynomials and rational expressions, exponents and radicals, relations and functions, systems of linear equations, and angles and polygons.  A scientific calculator is required.  Math A30 is a pre-requisite for Math B30 and Math C30.
