While Math C30 is a prerequisite it maybe taken concurrently.  Students will apply the mathematical skills they have developed through all previous math classes.   Topics to be worked with are differentiation of sums/products/quotients, limits, the chain rule, maximum and minimum problems, motion, applications of Calculus to curves ketching, and area under curves. Broadcasts will be four days a week from l2 noon - 12:50pm with a test or an assignment on day five.

Textbook: Calculus a First Course
by Stewart/Davison/Ferroni

Listening, speaking, reading and writing are emphasized. The course is divided into composition/literature and grammar. The literature includes the print media, short stories and literary songs. Grammar includes present, past, future and conditional tenses; irregular verbs; pronouns; introduction to the subjunctive; adjective formation, and gender. Students are required to deliver a speech in French.

Ce cours est divisé en 3 grandes unités.  D'abord, une unité littéraire qui consiste à la lecture et à l'analyse du roman (texte narrtif).  Ensuite, une unité sur le journalisme où l'élève devra composer différents articles.  Un texte explicatif, argumentatif et un fait divers. L'élève devra aussi faire le montage d'un journal. Finalement, une unité sur la fantaisie qui permettre a l'élève de lire et de faire la création d'une histoire originale.  Le tout sera encadré par l'étude grammaticale du français comme: les pronoms personnels compléments, le participe passé, l'accord des adjectifs, sujets, verbes et bien d'autres notions.
