Course Description:

 

Creative Writing 20 provides opportunities for students to refine their creative writing skills and abilities. Students are encouraged to explore many different ways of conveying meaning through writing, and to see how methods and styles vary within cultures and time periods. This course focuses on writing as an art form. The four major genres of creative writing featured in this course are poetry, short fiction, play writing, and non fiction. 

Prerequisites: English A10 or B10 required

Course Description:

 

Math A30 is the first of three 30-level mathematical courses. This course reviews and expands upon many of the concepts taught in Math 20. Time is spent reviewing operations with exponents, polynomials and the six trigonometry functions. Students are also introduced to solving linear systems, data analysis, permutations and combinations and relations and functions. Math A30 is a prerequisite for Math B30 and Math C30.

Course Description:


French 30 is a Core French course based on the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education Curriculum. A communicative, task-oriented approach is used. Students benefit from the interaction with the teacher and other classmates from around the province by means of television, Internet, telephone, and fax. Course topics include: Careers, the Future, Technology, and Stereotypes. The teacher promotes communication with all students by using Moodle, e-mail, telephone and fax. This class may be taped or the use of e-cast through SCN may also be used during a time that would better suit the student's schedule. The notes are also posted on the Internet on a daily basis, along with assignments, a course calendar and all other course handouts. Exams and assignments are faxed between the studio and the site and then returned to be marked by the ITI teacher. Students enrolled in this course would benefit from access to a phone during on-air class time, TV and/or VCR, fax machine, and Internet.

Course Description:

 

Math B30 is the second of three 30-level mathematical courses taught in Saskatchewan . Students are introduced to many new concepts throughout this course. Students are first introduced to imaginary and complex numbers. Considerable time is also spent sketching and analyzing polynomial and rational functions, a concept introduced briefly in Math A30. Matrices and exponential and logarithmic functions are two other concepts that are introduced in Math B30. Students enrolled in this course should expect to spend a significant amount of time completing assignments outside of instructional time. Math B30 is a prerequisite for Math C30.
